QUICK BLOG POST… I Need YOUR HELP, So I Can Better HELP YOU!

How do YOU want to start off the NEW YEAR?

CONDITIONING OF THE MIND!!!

Whilst I was in Orlando, Florida last weekend at a fitness business event one of the speakers brought up a very interesting topic… the topic of mindset and how we often become conditioned to think a certain way!

He went on to talk about how in the 80s and 90s females became conditioned to think that it’s best for them to use ‘FOLLOW ALONG’ instructional workout DVDs and aerobic classes.

Abs, abs, abs!!!

Does The ‘BUMS and TUMS’ Class Sound Familiar To You???

NOW… PLEASE don’t get me wrong I am not bashing all these workout DVD’s and classes, but 90% are pure trash and will never help 90% of the women using them achieve the body and results they want!

The 1 GOOD thing about them… is that they serve as a form of social support for women. However, all the social support in the world will do little good if the programming just plain sucks! Keep in mind… that I’m concerned with helping people get ‘REAL’ results, not just helping them drop a few lbs on the scale.

You need to master skills (exercise techniques and program implementation)… Initially you use follow alone instructions provided by a trainer or printed out workout regime and then you implement it by yourself over and over again… until the time comes when you DO NOT need the trainer or print outs with you all the time to carry out the routine. At this point you have mastered the skill of implementation… you can do it on your own… YOU CAN FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS!!!

Do YOU Follow The RECIPE or Do YOU Know The RECIPE?!?

On my flight back from Orlando to California I was watching the food network and the ladies baking were not using recipes (instructions). They no doubt initially did, but now they have mastered their skills and can bake certain recipes easily by memory. No need for follow alone instructions here.

DON’T Be ‘AFRAID’ To Perform So-Called ‘MANLY’ Exercises

Most women need to get out of their ‘COMFORT-ZONE’ if they want to truly get results and develop the bodies they want… and that means switching off the workout DVD’s and exiting the aerobics studio.

Many women are intimidated by entering onto the main gym area and I hear your concerns and understand them… BUT let’s remember something very important, you want to change your body, not only to improve your health, but to boost your confidence and self-esteem.

Why not start boosting your confidence today by getting out into the main gym area and realise that you pay good money for your gym membership and have every right to use everything and every area that’s included in that membership fee.

PUT the PINK DUMBBELLS Down and EXIT…

Do you need to EXIT the ladies only area?!? Sculpting a better body is all about doing something to improve your confidence… but you must first develop the confidence to take action… and get out of your comfort-zone as I mentioned earlier. Right now this ladies only area may well be your comfort-zone and what is keeping you from getting results… THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT… Think about what I just said. STAYING in the area that is ‘DESIGNATED’ to women is actually what will ‘PREVENT’ you from getting ‘REAL’ results!

This Hot SEXY-LEAN Body Wasn’t Sculpted Using…

Do you think the girl in this photo really uses ‘BABY’ dumbbells? I really doubt it… BUT, that’s what women have been conditioned to think… that big weights = big muscles, so you need to stick with the little weights. Here’s what I want you to think… little weights = little progress = little results and that all equates to very little likelihood you’ll stick to your program, as you won’t see the one thing you want to see… RESULTS! You do want results don’t you?

Get OUT of Your Comfort-Zone and Get RESULTS!

If you really want to get results and sculpt the body you want… I strongly encourage you to take action by first getting out of your comfort zone… what’s your comfort zone? Is it a workout DVD, aerobics class or the ladies only pink dumbbell section in your local gym? Whatever it is… the chances are it’s doing the complete opposite of what you want it to do… it’s keeping you from achieving the results you seek!

What Does WASHing Your Car Have To Do With Developing WASHboard ABS??? READ on to DISCOVER The ANSWER!!!

WOULD YOU BELIEVE ME??? If I was to tell you that you could wash your car and get washboard abs, would you believe me? I sure as hell hope not. Yet this is the sort of nonsense I have seen advertised here on the television in the united states. The good ole US infomercials.

You see throughout Europe we don’t get swamped with these sort of adverts on television… we do get them, but not to the extreme that I have personally witnessed here and not so frequent. I can now very clearly understand how people throughout the USA and North America are being manipulated and conditioned to think about fat loss and physique development… the solution these infomercial people want you to ‘BUY’ into is an easy one… and that easy solution is… to whip out your credit card and order their gadget or gimmick!

I think it’s time someone set you straight and told you how to identify what a useful abdominal training tool is and how to identify abdominal training gimmicks and gadgets. That’s my goal with this article!

There are many reasons why I decided to write this article. One reason is because that’s exactly what I saw on an infomercial whilst down in Orlando, Florida last weekend. A waist belt that you wear whilst washing your car… and it sends electricity through your midsection and it’s meant to “ENGAGE” your entire core muscles.

So what’s wrong with this picture??? Well for a start I know that the models they use for these infomercials DID NOT develop their great bodies and midsections by using these products. This is manipulative advertising and they prey on people who they know are desperate to achieve fat loss results and a lean midsection… they know that people watching these adverts are looking for a solution to a problem and they pitch an “EASY” solution.

Well I have some NEWS for you… I hate to tell you this, but I have to be ABSolutely honest with you here, something these infomercials aren’t been… and the truth is that there’s NO EASY SOLUTION!

But it makes my ABS hurt, so it must work… If I beat you up with a baseball bat you are going to get bruised and feel pain… that does not mean you will burn fat or build muscle… does it??? Hmmm have I just came up with a new training tool… Beat Your Way To a BETTER and LEANER Body… with the NEW Body Sculpting Bat!!! Let me quickly run off and check for a patent 🙂 lol

ALSO… any exercise which requires you to isolate and work a small area of muscle is going to create a local burn sensation, but a local burn sensation does not equate to the removal of stubborn bodt-fat from that body part! SPOT reduction doesn’t happen, no matter what these infomercials try and tell you… Ohhh and by the way, the fitness models they use… are just that, FITNESS MODELS… they make their living by doing these commercials, etc. Don’t be mad at them… just don’t be fooled into believing they achieved their awesome bodies and washboard abs by using these silly gadgets!

Most likely you are sitting down as you read this… place your feet flat on the ground and start lifting the front end of your feet up into the air, whilst keeping your heels grounding… do so with a nice pace or tempo. Keep doing it. Is your anterior tibialis starting to feel the burn yet? That’s the muscle running outside your shin bone.

Professional Athlete DOESN’T Believe Infomercial Nonsense!!!

Just the other day before leaving for the airport in Orlando I had a little time to check my email and I received an email from a professional athlete… now I have removed his name and the sport in which he plays as he asked me to respect his privacy… but here’s what his email was in relation to…

Hello, I have one question. I’m looking into an ab machine, to refresh my existing ab routine. Is there a machine worth getting? I don’t believe commercials that I see on TV, I’m in a good shape (8.3% BF) I’m just looking for something to add that little something extra to have my abs really pop. I’m a lean muscular guy, but whatever I do, my abs are not really what I want them to be. I’m a very active person, I’m 6’6″ and 245lbs and love working out on top of what we do at the rink. I’d be very thankful for any help, perhaps starting with my first question – is there an ab machine that works? And if so, which one is it?

This athlete understands what doesn’t make sense… so fair play to him for not buying into the nonsense being advertised. BUT…

Are There ANY USEFUL Abdominal Tools Available???

The KEY word here is ‘TOOL’… a tool is something useful, whereas a gadget or gimmick are just that, GIMMICKY! A tool is something you can use to help you achieve the end result you are wanting. Bryan and I are working on a report for you that will discuss in DETAIL how to identify which products are tools to help you get ripped and which ones are nothing more gadgets/gimmicks designed to rip you off. STAY tuned into my blog for notification about this special report!

For now you should know that the best tools out there are free weights, your own bodyweight, kettlebells, medicine balls, sandbags, the ab wheel or power wheel and the TRX Suspension Trainer and strongman implements. All these products are versatile TOOLS… not gimmicks!

So To Answer The Question I Posted At The Start Of This Article…  What Does WASHing Your Car Have To Do With Developing WASHboard ABS???

The ANSWER Is… ABSolutely NOTHING!!!

Turbulence and how it effects your fat loss results!!!

I got back into Long Beach, California last night after a weekend in Orlando, Florida. I was in Orlando for a fitness business event and it was awesome. The flight down was pretty smooth, but on the way back we went through some major Turbulence.

I flew with Jet Blue Airlines and my flight was via Austin, Texas. We literally touched down in Austin, got off the plane… had a quick visit to the bathroom and then it was time to reboard.

The Orlando to Austin flight was fairly smooth all the way… but the Austin to Long Beach flight was really rough! Haven’t experienced Turbulence like that in a long time.

That gave me the idea for this post today… You see, what happens to an aircraft when it has to go through Turbulence is that fuel is used at a greater rate, both when going through the Turbulence and when coming out the other side. It’s basically a BIG stress being placed on the plane’s engine and fuel is guzzled up!

So how does this relate o you and your fat loss results???

Well what I should also tell you is that at the fitness business event in Orlando, I had the pleasure to meet with a fat loss expert and mens health magazine contributor from Toronto, Canada whose name is Craig Ballantyne.

Craig was one of the speakers in Orlando and has a really strange sense of humour, but is a pretty awesome and funny guy. I’ve never heard so many people laugh at a guy who says so little.lol

What you need to know is that Craig is the creator of a revolutionary fat loss system called… Turbulence Training

Craig came up with the name for his training system several years back after himself being on a flight that went through some bad Turbulence. It’s a pretty clever name and analogy when you think about it.

You see what you want to do when you are training is to put your body through intense work or Turbulence, which means you will burn a boatload of calories during the session, but also after your training session because the work you have performed was so demanding it creates what is refereed to as the ‘After Burn Effect’… i.e, you burn calories at a greater rate post-exercise due to increased post-exercise oxygen consumption or what is properly referred to as EPOC (Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption)

Well in this video Craig put’s up a ‘Man-Versus-Food’ challenge of his own. You could call it the ‘Cardio-Versus-Food’ challenge or the ‘Dier-Versus-Exercise’ challenge, and the results clearly show that you cannot outrain a bad diet!!!
